More disturbing than anyone actually creating a religion off an American film series? And then proceeding to taking it seriously?
Of course it's silly, but religions often are, especially from an outside viewpoint. I think Tesco should treat their customers' religious views equally. The man is very rightfully offended, Tesco not only told him he doesn't understand his own religion, but it also did it in a very condescending way.
By the way, how do you know the films were not based on something more than just George Lucas' imagination?
Anti-Jedi discrimination?
