Short plane flights of an hour or two are okay, long ocean jumps suck, and if I positively hate being in helicopters... some people groove to it, for my part unless I actually have to cover more than a thousand miles I'd rather drive, even Houston-Dayton I'd rather drive, listen to audiobooks, have my own car when I got there, pull over when I want, see the sights, etc.
Dayton's an okay place, haven't been back in years, RT suggested the museum and that's a nice place, a decade's too long an interregnum to suggest much else though, used to be 3rd street was either a cool place to hang and/or the bad part of town, but it's fairly much like every city.
