I'll be a bit surprised if there wasn't a lot foundation damage, and some of the historic sites would probably be the most obvious candidates for that, but it doesn't appear any injures were caused by quake or panic, I suppose DC probably is pretty well-prepped for man-made disasters and that's why lots of federal building were calmly evacuated. Probably could be viewed as a silver lining.

I do get the panic thing, however. As mentioned, I live in Southern California. When it rains, people loose all ability to drive. Oddly enough, the same happens if a sprinkler breaks on the side of the freeway. A little water....4 care pile-up (almost guarenteed).


Yeah, I'm a California native myself so I've got some perspective on it, though mostly secondhand. I think there's pretty much always something an area get that others don't and stuff they themselves rarely see and freak out about.
