This video does a fairly good job explaining how extreme our wealth disparities are in the United States, and thus the difficulty of tax policy.
Survival of the jungle, baby. Law of nature. You don't want to be poor? Gee you better do something about that. You know, apply yourself. Or be lazy, whatever. Or make a CHOICE and chose a low paying profession, for whatever reasons. Just remember, it was a choice. Aren't very smart and just destined to be a labourer? Hey, nothing wrong with that. The world can't run without you. Just don't live BEYOND YOUR MEANS. Yeah it sucks you can't have nice stuff, but hey, life sucks. Don't have 6 kids. Don't buy all those fancy electronics. Live small. Tough choices, sure, but you live with what was given to you.
And I should know, seeing how I grew up dirt poor. So poor, in fact, that I had to boil water if I wanted a hot shower. So don't talk to me how we should take all the money from rich people and spread it around. Where is the incentive there? Yeah, my childhood sucked. But I wanted nice things. I wanted a fucking hot shower! So you know what I did? I went out and applied myself! I make more money now than my parents did combined.
This should be a motto everyone should have drilled into them: Don't live beyond your means. Will you miss out on nice stuff? Maybe. But who gives a fuck? At least you aren't bathing out of a pot
