I think you over-glorify the status of most teachers. You certainly completely fail to understand what makes their position unique, why they can't be happy with what "everyone else has." But, if you haven't already figured that out, its willful ignorance, and I'm clearly not gonna change your mind, so whatever. They have a right to make their demands, same as everyone else. And unlike everyone else, they are in a position where they might even be able to win. Probably not, economy being what it is, but good on them for trying.

The American People are a bad boss. But, we still want people to teach our kids. In fact, we want more than warm bodies, we want people to do well. On the cheap. While we call them liars, cheaters, and stealers in public forums.
