The Catch 22 of these kinds of things is that for the 99% to get actively involved over the long term requires an amount of time and effort that tends to preclude the time and effort necessary to feed, clothe and house themselves and their families under any system like the one their protesting. That, of course, is a key design feature of said system; only when many people become convinced providing for their families is no longer POSSIBLE without fundamental reform will they be willing and therefore able to devote most of their energy to accomplishing any large scale change.
