My historical reading is still slowly expanding. I would have been able to get Jackson soon (I'm reading about him in Foote's Civil War trilogy), but the only one I didn't know from a war I've read about is Yamashita.
I knew Rommel, de Gaulle, Churchill, and Patton. Awesome historical figures. I've only read very generally about Churchill, but am interested in getting my hands on the more recent Churchill's two-volume biography of him. It sounds as though he was a hell of a commander. I've always found it funny that the motto on the Churchill coat of arms is "Faithful but unfortunate."
