The final is never free-flowing Colonel Logain Send a noteboard - 23/10/2011 11:24:52 AM
All 7 finals of the Rugby World Cup have yielded a grand total of 9 tries.

I said about a week ago that France are normally good for one game of the tournament. That was definitely it right there. Hopefully this French team will get some credit now, as they came agonisingly close to winning the whole thing.

Having said that, New Zealand deserved to win tonight. They have been ranked #1 for longer than all of the other rugby teams put together, and I think this is just desserts for their efforts.

On a personal note, I'm happy the Kiwis won, because one of my least favourite things about sports is the "choker" tag, which is unfair on the team it is applied to, and also on the team that beats the "choking" team, because it implies that the opposition lost more than they won.

Well done to Rebekah, Sports_Gambler and any other Kiwis out there. A well-deserved victory.

I have nothing to add. I just wanted to be included in this thread.
