That is only half of what they do. nossy Send a noteboard - 10/11/2011 02:37:49 PM
Sorry, but this is one point where I must seem like a granola liberal or something. I think it's needless waste and people should just have fake trees.

Really, not even half. Most agricultural industries employ quite a few people, because one cannot just plant a plant and leave it to grow. It's not overly labor intensive, but it does require work. The CT industry has to replant the trees it cuts down, or it would be out of business very quickly. They aren't going into large established forests and picking out all trees 5-10' tall. It has to be a sustainable industry by trade. So I don't agree with that argument at all.

Why are we supporting an industry that does nothing but chop down healthy trees to throw them away? - 10/11/2011 02:30:10 PM 602 Views
Well, for the most part that is the reason they were planted in the first place. - 10/11/2011 02:34:09 PM 501 Views

These are trees that are planted specifically for that purpose... and then replacements are planted. - 10/11/2011 02:42:04 PM 487 Views
That is the very definition of needless consumerist waste. - 10/11/2011 04:07:34 PM 516 Views
