A tree is planted for no other reason than to chop it down, display it for a few weeks and then dump it onto the street for it to clog up landfills. There is no utilitarian use, like in planting trees for wood or paper products, and it is clear that they don't get recycled. The rank hypocrisy of the "eco-friendly" liberals in New York who dump the trees by the hundreds onto the streets of Manhattan is just disgusting.

This would be the rank hypocrisy of the eco-friendly who throw away biodegradeable material? Of all the rank hypocrisy available in the world, this falls pretty darn low on the ol' rank-o-meter. Of all the things to be grievously offended by, this is kind of a reach, even when self-righteous fury is your thing.

Why are we supporting an industry that does nothing but chop down healthy trees to throw them away? - 10/11/2011 02:30:10 PM 602 Views
Well, for the most part that is the reason they were planted in the first place. - 10/11/2011 02:34:09 PM 501 Views
