So I've been told. *NM* Urza Send a noteboard - 21/11/2011 11:37:16 PM
Or do you consider yourself to be?

For once, one of my professors said something interesting. She remarked on how this faculty's students lack ambition compared to, say, medical students. An interesting generalization, I thought, and probably true. It's not that we're any stupider, but perhaps the stream of ambitious students just doesn't flow to the Faculty of Forestry and Agriculture. Maybe we aren't stylish enough.

Not that I'm talking of just studying. Do you, in general, have a lust for distinction?
If yes, is it a great quality to have?

I'm exactly like the professor said. Not that ambitious. I just want to eventually get my degree that will land me a job which I can earn a living with and which will benefit other people, too. I have a very vague idea what the actual job should be. I'll drift to something, I'm sure. Wouldn't want to get stuck doing one thing year after year, though.

Now, I suppose the absolute opposite of an ambitious person would be the passive loser who just lets life float him where it may. Which philosopher was it who believed that you find a virtue between two opposing extremities?
