and the Broncos would be watching the playoffs from their living rooms.
No one takes Tebow before the second round. He is a great player and I am thrilled to have him, but he was NOT a #25 overall pick. That proves nothing except what an inexact science the NFL draft is. Ryan Leaf was a #1 overall pick; Night Train Layne was undrafted. Things like that make RATIONAL people unwilling to take big gambles with first round picks that are at a premium (though the idiotic Cutler trade gave McDumbass TWO in each of his first two years; when evaluating his poor draft results it is important to remember he had 19 picks in 2 years, so the fact a few may pan out is basically just the law of averages.)
The Tebow pick may just be an example of Belicheat taking his protege to school; rumors were flying thick and heavy before the draft that the Pats coach had invited Tebow to Boston for dinner and a pre-draft interview, been very impressed and planned to take him earlier than anyone expected. Even if all that is true, I still cannot see him or anyone else taking Tebow in the first round, and even the second is doubtful. To give you an idea of what a reach Tebow was: He was selected immediately after Dez Bryant. In retrospect, it was worth it, sure, but at the time we were rolling some pretty big dice--particularly since we already had a QB who had just made the Pro Bowl as an alternate his second year in the League.
Just remembering that makes me livid at McDumbass, even before I consider the fact his 2nd and 3rd round picks were essentially blown on Zane Beadles and J.D. Walton (yes, they have both started every game of the past two seasons, and Beadles actually had a decent game Sunday; I stand by my statement.) Yet another reason I hope we shock the world this weekend, because, while Denver natives were still dancing in the streets last Sunday night, Belicheat was already on the phone to McDumbass and, fresh from doing to the Rams what he did to Denver, the worst coach in the NFL will be on the NE sideline Saturday. He signed half our team, wrote our playbook in conjunction with Mike McCoy last year and was under contract with the Rams for the same position he will have in NE, but I guess that is fair.
Who knows? If he remembered to bring his camera and all his tape on us the Cheatriots might even "win" another Super Bowl.
Honorbound and honored to be Bonded to Mahtaliel Sedai
