i hate the patriots but not enough to watch them play the giants *again*. anyone else, this would be interesting. as it is, i still think the pats are going to have a cowboys or 49ers style blowout in this one. and just for you, i hope your ex coach gets beaned by an errant pass on the first play of the game.
Unless the Giants D mauls Brady like they did in their last Super Bowl; then I suppose it possible, since the Pats D is so awful. I think it was Simms who pointed out they have done much better in the playoffs than in the regular season, but since they are finally facing a team that actually HAS an offense I expect them to look more like the 31st ranked defense they are. They can get away with that against teams that have either no offense (e.g. Denver and Baltimore) or defenses as bad as theirs, but neither is the case with the Giants.
Of course, if McDumbass gained any deep insight about the Giants D when it held the Rams to 16 points when he was their offensive coordinator in week two, the Pats may be able to neutralize one half of a pretty good Giants team and stay in it. I did notice just now that Wikipedia says last year was only the second time a wildcard NFC team won the Super Bowl; of course, that would mean the first was these same Coughlin-Manning Giants in '07.
Bottom line: If the Giants are not any better than they were in '07, they are not significantly worse, and the Pats are.
I would not object to a McDumbass beaning or dozen, but if he loses the Super Bowl and spawns a new rule I will be content.

You remind me of video game fans who insist they won't buy BIG SERIES #2.

Hell, once the Bengals lost, there wasn't going to be any interesting matchup to me.

Brady was in possession of the ball before diving over the goal line

Agreed; dude needs to learn to hold onto a ball when he has both hands on it in the endzone.
