He admitted he doesn't understand he can't understand why they voted for Newt but I think he still has a ways to go before he admits that the the basic flaw is he has a caricature image of the right that doesn't hold up to reality. He is trying to understand how the people he fit the mold he has of them could have voted the way they did but he seems to missing the obvious which is he has a very flawed mold. He ignores the fact Newt did the best with people who said the economy was the biggest concern and who said those who said they were struggling economically.

He ignores the fact that most of the Evangelical Christians have only a slightly higher opinion of catholics then they do of Mormons so if they voting religion they voted for Santorum. He is head and shoulders the most consistent social conservative in the bunch.

When your views of a group are based primarily on what their enemies say about them it is hardly surprising that those views are often wrong.
