I don't mean that 'pop'pycock crap that passes for it today, but the real shit. I was listening to Jimmy Wakely and some other 'singing cowboys' today, it's really such enjoyable music. The one linked below (Oklahoma Hills from 1949) has some quite attractive instrumental solos in it to go along with the song. So nice! 
Some of the other ones have small choruses of sorts doing wordless humming and oohing ...
The fact that its organic is so nice too, real voices and instruments, an actual band or even mini-orchestra in some of the videos. Not like the pop music today which uses synths and patches for everything. I really hate this era's pop music.
