Okay, I'm sorry for asking such a ridiculous question, but I've actually had a hard time finding a concise answer for this online.

I have a pair of Blundstone riding boots that I love, but they're super faded (more of a grey-green than a black!!) and I want to wear them for clinical rotations in large animal next year. To this end, I want to get them BLACK again.

I've tried just doing the liquid shoe polish but, as expected, that quickly rubs/fades off.

I've seen a lot of people referencing leather dyes and using more old-school forms of shoe polish, but I've yet to find a nice concise how-to to fix, specifically, old boots. Everything seems to be for slightly-scuffed-up men's dress shoes!

So can anyone here give me a more solid idea of what I need to do to restore my boots? I know how to clean/oil well enough, and have all the supplies for that (yay saddle cleaning), but when it comes to restoring color I'm just kinda lost :(
