Well, again, Dark Matter & Dark Energy aren't all that related, there's Dark Fluid, Dark Flow, etc

So they're saying dark matter still exists? It seems like a terrible theory from a scientific perspective. From a philosophical perspective you can extrapolate dark matter, dark energy, multiple universes, wormholes, and a whole host of other things.
"Dark" is just a placeholder name equivalent to ?????? or WTF? Dark Matter originally just meant a catchall for anything we had problems detecting back when we were getting good enough at finding things and had a big data pool to actually be able to meaningful say things like 'There should be more stuff here.' There's really no relationship between the two.
The core problem remains, we can detect way more gravity localized around galaxies, this means mass (presumably anyway) in excess of what we can account for, if it's got mass it should be some discreet particle(s) having ruled out (more or less) things like MACHOs and RAMBOs. It's not ideal but postulating a type of matter with rest mass that interacts only very weakly beyond gravitationally isn't that weird a concept. A neutrino is the same, just without rest mass. Dark Energy is a whole different cup of tea. Dark Matter requires nothing weird then basically a neutrino that has mass.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

It would more or less amount to the same thing anyway

I don't like the theory of dark energy, either, but how do you account for the bending of light?

Unlesss you're talking about Sachs-Wolfe Effect I think you mean Dark Matter
