Not sure how much excitement Contador could bring, not if he was racing clean anyway. And Saxo-Bank didn't look like a particularly strong team, which anyone would have needed to really crack the Sky train. Schleck would have brought some crazy mountain excitement aye, and then been mullered in the TTs
Is that supposed to mean you think he's won all his victories on doping?
He has won two Tours, a Giro and a Vuelta even if you leave out the Tour and Giro they took away, is the best climber and among the best time trialists of his generation. When he's in shape, he's the man to beat even if he does have a weak team. And even when he's not in shape, he still brings excitement, like last year.
And as for Schleck, well, mountain excitement and disappointment in TTs is better than nothing at all. I don't suppose this was as big a deal in Britain, but let me tell you, over here they kept playing up the supposed Wiggins-Froome rivalry and clamoring for Froome to be allowed to attack his leader's position. And not to be mean-spirited or whatever, but out of sheer boredom because nothing else was going on. That really wouldn't have been the case with Schleck or Contador, let alone both, in the Tour (or, to be fair, with Evans in better shape).
That was pretty cool aye, especially as 2 other trains were trying to get to the front.
Yeah, it was fairly crazy.

About as likely as him being an ancestor of fictional future character Ender Wiggin.

That's why I went with unlikely ancestor. Spellings can change over the centuries. *NM*

With there being only five Britons in the Tour, their dominance is certainly impressive.

It does show how little strength in depth there is, though Dan Martin was born and raised in Britain

He rather seems like the real deal - unlike most of the proven doping cases.
