What he said was insensitive, because it felt like he wanted to point out what he could to make what he did with his Olympics seem somehow superior. I honestly think he should have kept his nose out of it. Think about all the work that went into it, and he just questioned that. For what purpose? If not to make himself look better, why say anything negative?

AND, it sounded like he questioned the commitment of the British people. You can't tell me New Yorkers* wouldn't have been super pissed if a British candidate came over and made similar comments, can you?

*i used NY because the UK is essentially like a very densely populated state with a very densely populated city like NYC. Not a lot of room, tons of people, roads that can't be changed, etc. Of course there would be more complications than in SLC. I've been there - not much to see.
