The reasons for including that "sport" in the Olympics seem very dubious to me to begin with, so I can't really get too upset about its players being treated as sex objects, when that pretty much seems to be the entire point of having the sport at the Games. It's more disturbing in sports that you can actually take seriously - gymnastics, for starters.


This I really don't understand. How can anyone take a sport where the winners are determined wholly on the judgemnent of non-participants (gymnastics) more seriously than one where the winners are determined by a tangible score (or time) accomplished by the participants (beach volleyball)?

Also, when you put the word sport in quotes regarding beach volleyball, I can only assume you've never played it. Is that true?
