When was the last time the Cowboys went to the playoffs. It was in 2009. Gasp! That's the year they finally won a playoff game!
What's your point?

In the past 2 seasons have the Cowboys had a team good enough to make it? Nope. Could Tom Brady had led them to the playoffs? Very doubtful. So once the Cowboys are good enough AS A TEAM, let's see if Romo can build on that playoff win last time. Mmm k?
Some quarterbacks don't need to build that slow. Like Romo, Manning lost his first two playoff games, and no one was blaming teammates for his mistakes in those. After that, he won his next four, including a Super Bowl, and is 4-1 since. At no point in his career was he ever 1-3 in the playoffs, with defenders sulkily blaming his extremely talented, high-expectations teammates, and demanding he be given a chance to "build on" his mild, team-driven baby-step successes. Despite being older than Manning, he got his first win two years after Manning, and you are still talking about him building on successes with his fully-stocked roster, after Manning has a couple of rings and Super Bowl winning drives to his name (despite the clock management blunders of supporting teammates like Hakeem Nicks and Ahmad Bradshaw, or overcoming horendous blocking on the most famous play of his life). It'll be interesting to see if Mario Manningham continues the pattern of failing to match the moderate success he enjoyed under Eli, as Plaxico Burress, Jeremy Shockey, Derek Ward, Kevin Boss & Steve Smith have done. By contrast, some quarterbacks get to start their careers throwing to Jason Witten and Terrell Owens as established veterans, with Flozell Adams and company protecting them.
