It would be marginally less irritating if it didn't include the inane personal factoids that apparently are de rigueur for the medium.
I mostly avoid oversharing my inane personal factoids but one or two do tend to leak out. The twitter acccount is there in part to try and drive more traffic to the site to keep the community going, but nobody pays much attention if it spews out nothing but adverts for the site and links to posts etc. Making it a bit more of a conversation helps. Plus Kingdom Rush (which I think is the ad to which you're referring) is brilliant.
