... it says that the question is, "Do you have a favorable or unfavorable view of the U.S.?"

Of course, that sort of question is wide open to interpretation as to where the line is between favorable and unfavorable, and what criteria people use to determine which they choose. And it's very binary, so all it can do is hope that people in the middle balance out between the two sides.
