I'm asking this in a honest way, not a snarky way. Do you think that the state will give up the sales tax increase after 4 years?

Honestly? No.

Now, I have tons of caveats on that statement, and the most blunt of them is "without prop 13 it wouldn't need to be that way in the first place" - I don't think that with the 2/3rds majority needed to increase revenue that we would have gotten this far, and I can't see the government giving up any new revenue that it gets simply because it's so difficult to regain any funds as needed once lost.

But at the end of the day, no. I do not think that the 1/4th of 1 cent per dollar tax increase will go away.

In other news, I just found out that the Dems apparently got supermajorities in both houses, so we'll see what happens with that :/
