Hooray sodomy! *NM* Panorphaeon Send a noteboard - 15/11/2012 06:15:53 PM
Let's be friends for a moment. Let's set aside the fact that your message is basically "The things that are important to other people are not important to me, so let's all shut up about them." Let's set aside the irreconcilable differences, such as the fact that to Jews and Muslims, Christians blasphemously worship a mere human being who is either a Jewish heretic or lesser prophet, depending on where you're coming from. To Protestants, Catholics practice idolatry with their worship of their Church as the Body of Christ. To Catholics, Protestants commit the sin of Satan by refusing to recognize lawful divine authority. To both, Jews & Muslims blasphemously deny the divinity of their Redeemer. These may seem like petty technicalities on the outside but to anyone who has ever made any noteworthy trouble over a religion, they are matters of greater-than-life-and-death importance. I once heard someone decry the concept of people killing and dying in the name of the God generally accepted as good and infinitely loving, without stopping to think for a second that for people who take those ideas to heart, nothing is more worth killing or dying for! Let's set aside the gaping chasm of ignorance revealed on the part of anyone who is so out of touch with the religious mindset as to not understand that these things are important to them, let alone the how or why they are.

And then there are the others, with whom I am not familiar, but whatever. In the Judeo-Christian mythology, the first sin recorded after the Fall of mankind, was heresy. Cain offered a sacrifice - worship - that was not pleasing to God. This was the motivation for his more infamous crime of the first murder. Think about that. Before he was the First Murderer, Cain was the First Infidel. The first human being to die, according to the Bible/Pentateuch, was a devout and faithful man, murdered by one who did not share his custom of worship. THAT is who you are asking, no, demanding that Jews and Christians (and Muslims if they purloined that portion of our scriptures, too) "coexist" with, the successors of Cain, and partakers of his first offense. But we're going to ignore that oversight on your part, because this communication is an effort to offer you some friendly, reciprocal advice from one person among the billions with a similar mentality, if varying in the focus of that mindset.

The sort of people to display this bumper sticker are NEVER the type to settle for only ONE bumper sticker, and thus inevitably have lots of other stuff on the vehicle proclaiming their support for a number of causes usually including, but not limited to, paganism, witchcraft, feminism, homosexuality and leftish reproductive positions.

Now, I want all you leftwing types to sit and carefully think about people like me. Think about my expressed positions vis a vis those same issues. Think about Roman Catholics who still go to Latin Mass and think Pope Benedict XVI is a bit too liberal, albeit a mild improvement on John Paul II. Now think about the Islamic fundamentalists, who like those Catholics, reminisce fondly about the days when they'd all strap on swords and fight over the Holy Land. Think about fundamentalist Protestants, whom you all seem to think are behind the most offensive aspects of the Republican part platform.

Got it? Now imagine all of us taking your advice and learning to coexist. Imagine us all sitting down in a room to, instead of fighting about our differences, find things we can all agree on. You know what gets quarrelsome, combative types like us to cooperate better than anything? Common enemies.

With all that in mind, oh dear secularist or pagan, free-speech (porn) advocating, feminist-admiring, abortion-defending, public-religious-displays-outlawing, personal-weapon-rejecting, violence-disapproving, sodomite-befriending, knees-and-cleavage baring, owner of a bumper sticker featuring six symbols hated by just about all of us, If we all get together, whom do you think we're coming after first?

Love, Cannoli
