How are you? How are things? How is life?

I am bogged down by finals and tired and stressed and cold. But: christmas is almost here! There is hope!

Also tired and cold; finally found work and am doing construction about 60 hours a week. I actually got lucky last week: All but the first two days off with pay because the ground was too hard for the steam shovels to penetrate, and a night of running heaters on it proved inadequate, so they told us to just come back Monday. Since the temperature was ~0° FAHRENHEIT most of the week (I think it was colder Wednesday) that suited me fine. So, life is better with an income, but I hear ya on the tired; I am worn OUT. Like you say though, Christmas is coming soon and we will be off for a week and a half. Sleep; yummy, yummy sleep.... :|

Sounds like difficult conditions.

Not fun, but better recently; after getting most of last week off with pay due to extreme cold, the lingering after effects, return of snow and supply snafus allowed us to go home at 1500 Monday and today. Without four hours of overtime every single day it is much less grueling. :)

Things are otherwise good (except the Texans got trounced last night, but I will yell at someone else about that later ;)) and I hope the same is true for you.

Should I refrain from gloating about the size of the Seahawks victory? That was a fine victory, it has to be said.
Meh, the Seachickens are nothing to me but the team everybody in the Broncos AFC West used to stomp the crap out of before realignment. Then they moved to what has been the NFLs weakest division year-after-year since I was in kindergarten and suddenly they are a playoff team. :P

Of the current team, and last weekends humiliation of the Cardinals, the best comment I have seen is someone at Broncos Forums noting that Pete Carroll is once again proving he will always be a college coach (except he will NEVER be a college coach again, because he got caught setting his players up with agents, which makes them pros instead of amateurs. ;)) I will give him this much: He (eventually) pulled his starters, but here is a good example of why this kind of things annoys people:

4th and 23 at ARI 33 (Shotgun) M.Flynn pass incomplete deep left to J.Kearse [D.Dockett].
DRIVE TOTALS: ARI 0, SEA 51, 11 plays, 43 yards, 6:55 elapsed

Lemme see if I understand this: You are up 51-0 halfway through the fourth quarter, and you not only go for it on 4th and 2freakin'3, but try a TD BOMB! Because if the Cards manage to comeback and score 7 TDs and a FG in half a quarter they could still beat you.

Another illustrative comment courtesy ESPN:

"'For them to come out and dominate the way they did in every phase of the game it's embarrassing,' [Cardinals QB John] Skelton said."

In college, where a team that deliberately schedules inferior opponents to ensure 9+ wins, a bowl game and happy alumni, scoring obscene numbers of points on them is often the only chance of getting "championship" votes from coachs, sportwriters and computers. In REAL gridiron football, where tournaments decide championships on the field, no one has EVER come back from more than 33 points down; once a team leads by 5+ TDs, there is no such thing as a "nail in the coffin," only "nails in the corpse." The Seahawks will probably be reminded of that soon enough; the three teams you NEVER run the score up on are the ones in your division, because you play them twice a year and payback will be swift....
