I've never been part of a union. The only "protection" that I have in the workplace is doing a good job and making it so that the cost of replacing me is higher then the cost of keeping me. I've been in the workforce force for going on 15 years now. I've never been out of a job (even in a bad economy) because I've developed a multitude of skills, and I'm not too proud to take any job.
As for the War on Christmas, let people battle on and take out the spiritual aspects in public life if they want. I don't/won't like it, but it will not upset me to the point of dispair. As the Bible quote goes "As for me and my house..." (you should be able to finish that quote, right?)
