Don't get me started on Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day Tom Send a noteboard - 28/12/2012 02:43:42 PM
Those are the two stupidest holidays possible, and the worst part of it is that when you actually have children, you get screwed again by them and have to go out and help your kid buy something (or buy something for them) for your spouse's "day", and then you keep trying to limit the needless spending and get them to agree not to get you anything, only to get something that is worth than getting nothing (i.e., a waste of $40-$50).

Not only that, but both my own mother and my wife have birthdays in May. Also, I always hated Mothers' Day because my birthday falls on it in some years and when it does I can't even go to a restaurant on my birthday because of all the stupid fucking mothers.

My dad has always, with full knowledge of the political incorrectness, called both holidays "Zionist conspiracies" (by which he really just means greeting card companies and other consumer groups whipped up the holiday - he doesn't really believe it).
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.

– Procopius

Wait, I thought Kwanzaa WAS Festivus. - 28/12/2012 01:12:22 AM 321 Views
I would wager more people celebrate Festivus than celebrate Kwanzaa. - 28/12/2012 01:30:38 AM 350 Views

Seriously? Columbus Day? - 28/12/2012 01:18:50 PM 358 Views
Genocide Day would be a more appropriate name. Or Imperialism Day, I guess. *NM* - 29/12/2012 12:54:06 AM 140 Views
Too many other Genocides or Imperial expansions, it would be Amerocentric to pick that as focus *NM* - 29/12/2012 01:10:23 AM 135 Views
