I haven't even heard of study points either, to be honest. But if you're curious, 12 credits is the minimum to be considered full time as an undergrad at my school (possibly in the U.S., I don't really know). Most people take around 15 or 16. I had to sign a form for my advisers to take 20 that said I knew the risks involved and might die a slow and painful death at the hands of my professors and my work load.

Apparently the official english term is "European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System". Study Point is just direct translation of the finnish name. Anyhow, I'm currently doing BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) which is worth 210 points, so that would mean 1 credit is 17,5 points assuming they are convertable (BBA is undergradute degree too).
Well, if you're talking about the degree as a whole, I'm getting 2 degrees. 1 is for Computer Science and that requires 123 total credit hours, and the other is Computer Engineering which is 131. Altogether, I will be taking 177, I think. It's just how things work out for me. I'm just taking 20 credits this semester. So if you're saying what I think you are, the credit systems are much closer....more like 1.5:1 or 2:1 instead of 17.5:1.
