View original postI have lately come to the conclusion that all such names were originally used as male names and were eventually co-opted by females. Names like Robin, Leslie, Courtney, Taylor, and yes, Kelly and Francis.

Frances, of course, and Francesca or Francisca - but Francis?

Otherwise, I think you're right.


But over here, proper spelling of names doesn't really seem to be something people concern themselves with all that much It's as likely to be Francys these days. Or it will be when the name comes back into favor since it's less common right now.
