This just happened, so the whole story isn't out yet, but apparently there were two explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, causing injuries to quite a few people (I heard 20-30, but no official count yet). No word on if it was an accidental explosion or something more deliberate.

If you go Twitter-diving, there are pictures already of blood on the sidewalk and people hurt. Hopefully everyone is ultimately all right, and hopefully there's nothing deliberate behind this ... but given the high profile location and timing, you have to wonder.

I have a coworker who has participated in the marathon before, and was hoping to be there this year but didn't have the time. I'm glad she wasn't there.
