Honestly, the domestic process is a mess.

As for me, I have always wanted to adopt, even since I was young. This is a bit unusual since I have no personal connect with it (nobody in my family was adopted and none of my friends were). However, I always thought, why "have" a child when there are so many in the world that need parents.

My wife has always been open to adoption as well. We have been married for 7 and 1/2 years and never became interested in starting a family until we began talking about adoption a few years ago. So, this is right for us.

We have never seen our daughter in person, never held her yet, never hear her laugh, but we are bonded to her beyond words.

Next month, we will follow our red thread to the other side of the world.
