View original postEspecially when you consider that on two separate days this week SCOTUS handed out rulings upholding institutionalized racism (the Affirmative Action decision and the cutting out of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act).

I just don't see how they managed to make such decisions, as at the core of them the issues really are the same.

I am very happy at today's rulings, but just can't wrap my head around the mindset of SCOTUS after all the rulings this week are taken into account.

Somebody on this court has some split personality problems...


Based on the votes, it looks like we should ask Breyer why racial bars to voting are OK but sexual orientation bars to marriage are not.
