View original postskinner's daughter, julie vargas skinner, wasn't put in a black box, but she was incredibly intelligent and gave an awesome talk.

i've definitely found it useful to have music that can immediately calm my daughter down - you will likely want to condition a variety of music albums so you don't get bored. my kid has a thing for female folk singers even though i went for an even ratio of make/female artists in several genres, so there will be innate preferences to contend with. i found that interesting... chris cornell acoustic godliness was not as good as small time musician lisa hunter's folk singing for some reason. florence and the machine gets whined at sometimes because it's not quite right. anyway, her music preferences fascinate me.

the gear i got is called a lullabelly, you can get them at thinkgeek.com

My brother-in-laws girlfriend (who had their first child on my wifes birthday this year) recently gave her something similar called "Belly Buds." It is all a tad worrisome; beyond a certain point it ceases to be a matter of how much competitive benefit ones child gains from such practices as how much competitive DETRIMENT is caused in their ABSENCE. Life may or may not begin at conception, but keeping up with the Joneses definitely does, and genetic engineering is likely to dramatically raise the stakes soon.
