The Ohio Fusion Party I suppose Isaac Send a noteboard - 25/08/2013 07:03:07 PM

Easier for people to google it up if they want then explain. Obviously a lot of missing important bits from something 160 years out of date but I'm aligned to the modern Fusionism wing and from Ohio so I've had a certain fond historical taste for the older version, even though the welding principles for the mid-19th century version differs significantly from the late-20th to modern version. I've always felt the coalition mentality of fusionism is itself a sort of ideology insofar as that constant balancing act of your own various beliefs versus the coalition average versus the various factions really is a political and ideological philosophy in and of itself. The concept by other names is common to the point of cliche, admittedly, but other than the Federalists I've never much empathized with any political party of the past. Individual persons sure, but beyond the general respect one has for moments like Renaissance Humanism or Swaraj I rarely associate to foreign or historic movements. So I suppose Ohio Fusionists for historical and maybe the new Aam Aadmi Party since Swaraj comes to mind. I never trust my opinions on foreign political groups though since I so often find out my general ignorance of events there has led me to look fondly on some cause or movement that's seriously rotten but has a good spokesman.
