Well, whatever its flaws, democracy can certainly be entertaining. Cannoli Send a noteboard - 09/10/2013 10:39:33 PM

With New Jersey experiencing the joyous event of our senior Senator Frank Lautenberg abruptly changing his residence to Heaven (I am assuming, because I am just that nice, and AFAIK election-stealing is not a mortal sin, though I will allow for the certainty probability possibility of an ultimate afterlife destination with a somewhat lower altitude and higher temperature), there is a special election on this month to replace him. The temporary appointee by Gov Christie is not running, so there is no incumbent, and the field is somewhat open.

Anyway the sample ballot came in the mail today. I did not invent a single word, aside from italicizing the parties and transcribed the names and party affiliations exactly as on the ballot.

The candidates in the election for US Senator:
Column 1
Republican
Steven M Lonegan

Column 2
Democratic
Cory Booker

Column 3
Alimony Reform Now
Stuart David Meissner

Column 4
Ed the Barber
Edward C. Stackhouse, Jr.

Column 5
D-R Party
Eugene Martin LaVergne

Column 6
No Amnesty Period
Robert DePasquale

Column 7
Unity Is Strength
Pablo Olivera

Column 8
Freedom Of Choice
Antonio Nico Sabas

I love this country.
