Elections are won on the most polarizing issues and views. Why? Because we are too busy and/or lazy to give much thought to the issues. We want short and hopefully entertaining resolutions and debates. Without that there'd be a lot less people even going to the polls.

It's our fault, not theirs. We need to stop having the Kardashians and Duck Dynasty be the most interesting things of our day. Unfortunately, I don't see this happening anytime soon, without a truly catastrophic event occurring. Once we change, they'll change.
