Seeing some of the posts below got me nostalgic. It has been 15 years, give or take a month or so, since I started visiting wotmania. I still lurk around here. I still have very little of substance to add to the conversation, but I like reading what still gets posted here. I used to post music related stuff, but I am tragically unhip and old now. I used to dabble in the political posts, but they got more polarized. Not much room for a moderate voice. But BBQ is my hobby now! Please post BBQ stuff!

So I suppose I should update you about my life. I am still living in Bakersfield, CA, working for the same company as I did when I first wandered into wotmania. This October will mark my 20 year anniversary with the company. I still run a research group, but the group is much bigger. I have to focus more on the business side of things now, rather than the science. A lot more stressful and less enjoyable, but it will hopefully get me to an earlier retirement.

For those of you who may have missed it, I made an honest woman of Sheila a couple of years ago. Life is good. Marriage is good. We're getting older and hopefully wiser. Her kids are all grown up now. They will be 19 and 21 next month (can you believe it???). Sheila is taking her writing more seriously now, and making some tremendous progress. Me, I really am focusing on BBQ as a hobby, keeping notes and stuff. I really would like to compete in it again like I did a couple of years ago.

So when is the next gathering? We can travel more easily now
