Im not sure why they've made color the issue but getting a completely different donor is a big deal. They didn't adopt and they didn't choose to get any old donor. They presumably picked a donor based on specific traits they wanted. Much as one chooses a partner.
This is a pretty big deal and should be a lawsuit though it shouldn't be about race
