Well, obviously certain features of the mind such as consciousness haven't yet been explained, but I'm confident that science will one day get to grips with them. I'm a rationalist, I think there's no such thing as 'intrinsically unknowable' or 'beyond science'.

We know very little, much less than we thought we did when we were young. The answers are not within, they are out in the world. Abstract philosophies won't help unless they are firmly rooted in our own personal experience. The answers lie in getting out into the world and exploring and interacting as much as possible with other people and cultures, not living in our own heads and thoughts. Travel is one the best things you can do, because it lets you experience the world anew.
