You need to be 'in name' before you can be 'in name only' Cannoli Send a noteboard - 17/07/2015 12:57:55 PM

"Slow down, Homer; THINK before you say each word."
it's a meme, old man. Get with the times. But speaking of terminology, I've always thought RINO was a bad name. John McCain IS a member of the Republican party. The RINO term makes the mistake of assuming that automatically means conservative. McCain and Graham and Bush and their ilk are more like Conservative In Name Only.
Also, I had to read rts response to remember exactly what this case was REALLY about, after which I can only say: A LINO excusing (local, not federal) stormtroopers; "SUR-PRISE, SUR-PRISE, SUR-PRISE!"

They were not acting in their capacity to protect the public from violent criminals, but as tax collectors. What, exactly, is inconsistent about my criticizing such people? Also, while I am opposed to federal enforcement agents and officers in principle, in practice, local cops are bigger assholes. I have a rule of thumb which basically states that the arrogance and ego of the emergency responder or security worker is inversely proportional to his importance and degree of professionalism. Is there anyone more pointless and authoritarian than a lifeguard or a TSA agent, who only exist to do what people should be doing for themselves? It goes down, through EMTs, volunteer firemen, and suburban cops, compared to paramedics, actual firemen and city cops. Most cops tend to agree with me, though I don't actually tell them where they stand on that scale.
Since I have debated this issue too much lately, I will go further: Which is more pathetic?

1) The rights incessant rants on militarized cops, citizen rights and government oppression going mute when cops kill an unarmed black person or

The ACTUAL right has been complaining about this for years. The problem, as I repeatedly say whenever moondog and the like start shrieking in accordance with your subsequent point, is that the cases that receive national attention are the absolute worst examples. You have to work to find stuff like that kid who was badly burned when cops in tactical gear serving a no-knock warrant tossed a flash-bang into his crib. But when a thug assaults police officers, who shoot back, that is exactly justifiable. If someone struck an ordinary citizen sitting in his car and tried to grab him and pull a gun on him, and then tried to charge that citizen with a gun drawn, anyone would say he deserved what he got. But liberals can score political points due to the race, so of course they start screaming. There's nothing to be gained except justice in making a stink over the flash-bang in a crib.
2) The left remaining mute about militarized cops, citizen rights and government oppression UNTIL cops kill an unarmed black person?
