Seriously, imagine the reaction if you said to someone in 1996 that 2016 would feature the following:
- Ghostbusters would be remade featuring an all-female cast.
This was actually a pretty good movie and featured many "inside" jokes from the original movie as well as cameo appearances from most of the original cast.
- Game of Thrones would be a wildly popular TV show, instead of an obscure new novel
I haven't seen the TV show nor read the books. Kinda thinking I should probably read the books.
- Video stores would be extinct and book stores hot on their heels
I kinda doubt that book stores will become extinct. While I do sometimes read books with an e-reader those are books I don't really care about, if you know what I mean. If there is a book I love and I feel I need to HAVE in my library I buy the ink and paper.
- For interpersonal telecommunication, video had been all but perfected, and effectively been rejected, in favor of various typewritten media
- Playboy magazine no longer featured nude photos
This...this is just...kinda disappointing. One of the things I always liked about Playboy is that the photos were more...something...or is it less something...
I am not ashamed to admit as a woman I enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures in Playboy.
- The presidential election is between Hilary Clinton & Donald Trump...
I did early voting and cast my vote on...bwwwaaa...10/31. I couldn't vote for my first choice because my first choice wasn't on the ballot so my choice was between "Eh, not the other guy" and "OMG! NO F-ING WAY!"

They'd laugh at you. They would honesty think you were telling a joke, and if they didn't laugh, it would be because they'd still be waiting for the punchline about four guys on horses.
Honestly? I'm kinda waiting for the punchline too.
