Awesome! And it sucks she can't be at home. - Edit 1

Yesterday at noon, my wife was transported by ambulance to the Connecticut Hospice facility in Branford, CT. We couldn't keep her pain-free at home anymore. The staff at Hospice are wonderful people but it's horribly depressing to see her sleeping in this 4-person room and not in her own bed. Intellectually I get that this is better for her but emotionally it's like a stomach punch.

The one positive, other than access to injectable opiates, was that Peter Yarrow from Peter, Paul and Mary was here yesterday afternoon performing for the patients. Laurel wasn't able to go to the common area where he sang so he came into our room, sat by her bed and sang Leaving on a Jet Plane to her. She had the biggest smile I have seen in the last month. I like to think I'm a tough guy but seeing her smile like that made me cry like a woman.
