The two factor authentication question only shows the second of the two steps. Fair enough to expect the test taker to infer as much. But the VPN question is silly. If it protects against man in the middle attacks via Wi-Fi, it just as well anonymizes you to your ISP, who can only tell that you have accessed the VPN.
