DAMN, YOU CRAZY! - Edit 1

E7 was wonderful, it was great to see SW go back to it's roots and blend the old and new in a familiar way.

And yes, totally loved Rogue One. Not as much as E7, but truly is was an exceptional movie for the reasons you stated. And loved how they "solved" one of the biggest questions from E4.....why was the Death Star so easy to blow up!

View original postI thought Episode VII sucked. It was just a bad rehash of the original movie. For a while, I was thinking that perhaps I had just outgrown the love of my childhood. I even found myself asking questions that should never be asked, like, "Was Episode I really that bad? Maybe kids liked it the way I liked Empire Strikes Back? Am I just seeing the original trilogy through the lens of my own childhood?"

View original postThen I saw Rogue One. Even though the dead people animation was not entirely perfect, and even though the feel was a bit "off" for the time period, it was great. It had depth and good dialogue (I know, I said it felt a bit "off" already). It was well made and it kept my attention from start to finish. In short, I loved it. I saw what a good Star Wars movie could be, rather than just cheap derivative crap that was just to keep the fucking retards who eat up anything Star Wars without criticism happy.

View original postMaybe Episode VIII will be great, but I'm not holding my breath. If someone tells me the same people who wrote Rogue One are writing this script I'm willing to be more optimistic.
