Example: The Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child. Reacher in the books has close cropped blond hair, blue eyes and is 6 foot 5 inches tall, 235 pounds. So who plays him in the two movie adaptations made so far? Tom Cruise.

I shudder to think of who will be cast as Rand. Or Lanfear. Just to name two.


I have images of people in my mind taken from the covers of those books. So not using people who look like that will take some getting used to. I mean Rand has to be a Ginger. Lanfear needs to be dark haired and the most beautiful woman in the world.
