I'll take the opportunity to discuss the etymology of that particular phrase instead.
"How about them [insert sports team]" seems like a standard phrase in American popular culture and daily life, but where does it come from? It's rather un-grammatical, not the most natural way of starting a conversation, so I take it someone must've started saying it, and infected enough others that it spread throughout the entire country... is it from some TV personality, or really just some random anonymous person?
