Kind of like saying "how about that weather". If you live in Boston and the Red Sox are doing good you might say "how about them Red Sox".

In this case it is simply mocking and gloating. Very likely caused be years of watching his team lose to the Cowboys so like most small people he gloats and chuckles when the better man stubbles. Petty but I guess some people just need someone to hate.


As in, where did the habit of saying "them X" instead of "the X" or "those X" come from.
