Which is probably why there's so much controversy in Sweden - Edit 1

People in Sweden aware of the ingredients in Pandemrix pointed out that in USA the research into squalene was far ahead of that in europe. I didn't know it wasn't allowed in the US H1N1 vaccine.

Is there any explanation why?

Also the amount of Thiomersal allowed to be used in vaccines is higher in Europe than in US. In USA there is as I've understood a greater fear for side effects. Thiomersal is forbidden to be used in fluids for contact lenses in Sweden though. Because it's made from quicksilver and can possibly cause blindness
