have thought for a long time about writing a post about repair facilities, explaining how mechanics get paid, explaining how to find a good dealership or independent shop, etc.
I think I will work on that and I think it would be a good post for this site.
Sorry you got jacked, that was boneheaded of the guy to do that. sometimes a part gets delayed in transit or a screw-up is made when ordering but there really isn't an excuse for the guy to not have ordered them if you agreed to the repairs.

My best friend turns wrenches, and he normally does anything my car needs in his driveway. But alas, he does not sell tires, which opened me up to this catastrophe.
I wouldn't normally be freaking out about it either, people mess up. But I drive 300+ miles a day and I'm showing steel on my front right tire. I explained that to the tire guy on Friday.
